We talked about how the collapse of the financial system has called into question our most basic assumptions about what it means to live as Americans. Might this crisis also affords cities a new opportunity to reimagine and reinvent?

Great articles, Ben. First, I think we should take from Madrid's example and bury the BQE underground :-) Second, as the church, I think we need to take from this article; we need to reinvent the way we do ministry - just like we talked about in our meeting together a couple of Sundays ago. I think this is especially relevant in the life of First EFC, right now. We've just gone through the restart process - we can essentially look at ourselves as a new church. That allows us to reinvent ourselves and to reinvent the way we do ministry both in the church and outside of the church. Churches have rare time frames when they can reinvent themselves - I think this is our window of opportunity and we should take advantage of that as long as the window's open.
